Scott Watson

INDEPENDENT for Narre Warren South

Before you throw this out…

If you could create positive change with no risk, would you?

Dear Neighbour,

I believe our political system is a little bit broken.

Somewhere along the way, representing the community has become secondary to protecting the party, following the party line and building political careers.

We elect a local Member of Parliament to represent us, not simply to represent their political party and further their careers.

It should be the other way around.

I’ve lived in Lynbrook for more than 20 years. My background includes Victoria Police, senior public service roles, local government, managing major community events and years of community advocacy as President of the Lynbrook Residents Association, including our successful fight against the proposed waste transfer station.

I’ve worked with governments, challenged decisions, negotiated solutions and delivered results. I know how the system works, and I’ve seen where it doesn’t.

I’m not new to public service. I’m just new to asking for your vote.

I’m not interested in becoming a career politician.

I’m asking you for four years. One term to make a real difference.

Four years to represent our community without party instructions, challenge decisions and show what an experienced, genuinely independent local MP can achieve.

And perhaps four years for the major parties to lick their wounds, work out where they’ve gone wrong and come back better.

But here’s something I really want you to consider.

If you’ve always voted Labor, what happens if Labor loses Narre Warren South?

Who would you rather have representing you for the next four years?

And if you’ve traditionally voted Liberal, I’d ask you to consider exactly the same question.

I’m offering another choice. Not red, blue or orange. An experienced local who answers to the community, not a party room.

I am asking for your Vote 1.

Then number every other candidate in whatever order YOU choose.

You can put Labor second, Liberal second, One Nation second, or anyone else. That’s your decision, not mine.

If I’m excluded during the count, your vote transfers to your next preferred candidate still in the running.

You can give an independent a chance without surrendering your own political preferences.

I won’t promise to fix everything. I will promise to listen, do the work, speak my mind and make decisions based on what’s right for our community, even when those decisions aren’t politically convenient.

My website contains comprehensive policies including justice and cost of living. Please check them out.

Give me four years. Let’s give the system a reset.
