HOW DOES PREFERENTIAL VOTING ACTUALLY WORK?
This little practice app is for the lower house ballot paper, where you elect the person who will represent you Narre Warren South.
Your vote is anonymous. Vote for you and your family.
The basic rules are simple:
✅ Put the number 1 beside your first choice.
✅ Number every other box in order.
✅ Use each number once.
Your number 1 is your preferred winner (hopefully Scott Watson). The other numbers tell the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) where you want your vote to go if your preferred candidate is excluded during a round of counting.
My proposition is equally simple:
Put Scott Watson at number 1, then decide every other preference for yourself.
I am asking Narre Warren South to make a change for one term, not forever. Give me four years to represent the community without a party room, faction or political career determining what priorities hsould be.
The aim is to show every major party that Narre Warren South is no longer a safe seat that can be taken for granted.
One term can change everything.
This is a practice tool using sample candidates. It is not an official ballot and the final candidates and ballot order will not be known until nominations close.
Give it a try and let me know what you think:
